Override
An admin-initiated assignment that supersedes the normal schedule for a defined window.
An override is an admin-initiated assignment that supersedes the normal schedule for a defined window. Where swaps and takeovers are driven by the participants, an override is driven by a workspace admin.
Overrides are for the situations the regular schedule can't honor and the participants can't resolve themselves — an outage during someone's shift, an unplanned absence, a coverage gap an admin needs to fill directly.
In Dynaro, an override applies to a specific time window and auto-reverts when that window closes. Like swaps and takeovers, it updates the Slack user group while it's active and restores the normal assignment when it ends.
In practice
An engineer goes on emergency leave mid-shift. A workspace admin sets an override assigning coverage to a teammate for the next three days; when the window ends, the rotation resumes as scheduled.
